RockSolid Consulting have developed a website for distribution on DVD, in support of a community awareness campaign for Eraring Energy.
The website that presents Eraring Energy's environmental initiatives, as well as facts on the organisation's coal fired, hydro and wind power generation.
Project highlights included achieving smooth operation for both the Macintosh and PC platforms with one version of the DVD. Both operating systems have default security features that are more restrictive when running local applications from a DVD, in comparison to default browser security for the web.
For example, dynamic menus and animation had to be implemented without using technologies that would normally be used on the web, such as Flash and Javascript.
The initial production run of 500 DVDs will be distributed to staff and members of the community.
